In 2017 I volunteered on Saturday mornings at the playground. I live in the area and it was a great way for me to meet people I live alongside and get to know local young people, parents, playworkers etc. The philosophy of adventure playgrounds was new to me, and I was impressed with the staff’s commitment to creating the conditions for play, adventure and risk taking to thrive – free of charge.  Then – as now –  the young people were very involved in reinventing and redesigning the playground, and it continues to offer ways for them to build confidence, unleash their imaginations and have amazing fun.  I work in mental health social work and I became a Trustee with HARPA in 2018
