Jake Hally-Milne

SENIOR PLAYWORKER

I started working in Play and Youth in 1998 at Laburnum Boat Club as a kayak young leader and Design and Build (Play) building adventure playgrounds.
 
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience at a grassroots level having worked at Hackney Play Association, Islington Play Association, Islington council, Hackney council, Play Association Tower Hamlets and SWAPA in a range of roles. A guardian of Halabja Community Play project and a member of the international play association. I’m an advocate here and abroad for the right to play. I have also worked for the MoJ and as a specialist instructor at Ian Mikardo PRU.
 
As a qualified teacher/trainer, forest school leader, youth practitioner, and playworker. I also have management and workplace coaching experience and qualifications throughout my CPD most recent completing criminology at Birbeck University.
 
I have set up as ‘Jake’s Gardens’ in 2007 as a sole trader; gardener, landscaper, multi-trade builder as well as play building specialist which continues to date.
 
I’m happiest passing on my knowledge and skills to children and young people. I can usually be found building play structures or gardening at HARPA on Fridays with our young people from Haringey Learning Partnership.
