SisterHood Project

A space for Girls to be themselves

SisterHood is an innovative, girls-only project. We create a safe, challenging, co-operative space in which the girls can let go of self consciousness and the pressures of ‘being female’. Through being in control of their own play they can explore who they want to be, without judgement or the need to justify.

SisterHood aims to encourage positive social relationships with a strong sense of community. Activities come from the girls’ own interests and issues that are meaningful to them.

Recently the girls worked with an all female build team from playground designers Made From Scratch to create Somerford Grove’s beautiful Jewel Treehouse.
